Re: Diablo II on Mac I have a (white) Macbook and the game only works with a recently released patch. If you're planning on buying a Mac with a X3100 graphics card, you might want to stay away from it. You can only play singleplayer with the patch for now. Other than that any other Mac should work fine. There are no noticable differences besides 'hotkey-ing.' For some reason I can't hotkey at all on my Macbook. Might be the patch.
I use a Logitech MX510 for my mouse that I used when I had a windows pc. Just plug it into the USB port and your good to go. No driver installation needed. My questions are: 1. Since I used the installer on the Blizzard site to install Diablo II do I still need to download the patch? Do I use the same installer from the Blizzard site to install Lord of Destruction? After I figure out how to install Lord of Destruction, how do I apply the patch? I used to play this constantly on a PC, but now I'm overwhelmed with trying to even set it up on my Mac. If you don't see that and its any lower than 1.12a, download it here: Since I haven't been able to play online, I don't know if you need to have 1.12a to play on battle.net.
You might just be able to play with version 1.12. 3) I'm not to sure about the 1.12a patch but with the X3100 patch, all you need to do is put it in the folder where your 'Diablo 2 (Carbon)' launcher is and use the 'Diablo 2 BETA-for-X3100 (Carbon)' instead of the 'Diablo 2 (Carbon).
